Thanks to the fine folks at Creative Memories, a lucky reader of The Vacation Gals is going to the Type-A Mom Conference in Asheville, North Carolina this September. That is, I won the pass after entering a scrapbooking page layout contest last year, and unfortunately I cannot use it. With all the travel I’m doing this summer, and trips planned for the fall, I simply can’t eke out the time to scoot to the East Coast in September. But my loss is your gain! Creative Memories has agreed to pay the conference fee for one lucky winner in my stead.
I had such a great time at the Type-A Mom Conference last year, not only because my buddy SoCalGal and I presented a talk on travel blogging, but because we met so many fine new friends. The conference content was excellent — I took home so much great information from the top-notch panelists and speakers. My favorite part: the Blogger Town Hall Meeting, where everyone could pipe up about their thoughts on the parenting-blogging community at large. It was very, very cool.
The Town Hall talk is back on the agenda this year, as well as sessions about monetizing your blog, building community and working with public relations folks. SoCalGal Jennifer Miner is again talking about SEO with the smart Kristie McNealy. Jen’s also leading the “Travel Tribe” session (there’s also small-group sessions for food, fitness and other niche bloggers). Men have their own Dad Track, too!
To win a conference pass (you still need to pay for your hotel room and transportation to Asheville), simply leave a comment below telling me why you’d like to go to the Type-A Mom Conference. You can comment once daily to increase your chances. Enter until July 27, 6 p.m. PST. I’ll draw a random comment number and announce the winner on Winning Wednesday, July 28. Then I’ll make sure you’re registered for Type-A.
The only thing I ask is that if you win this pass, you’ll be sure to use it — or, if you need to cancel, you’ll transfer it to someone who can. I’d hate for Creative Memories to purchase a pass from conference organizer Kelby Carr, and then no one use it. So, if you’re entering, I’m hoping you’re serious about attending. Thanks!
Good luck!

I want to win so I can go hang out with Jen in California. How’s that? Also, what trips do you have planned for the fall?
Debbie
I would LOVE to go to the Type A Mom Conference! There are going to be so many great people there. I’ve recently started taking my blog “seriously” and would love to learn from people who have already managed that successfully. Thanks for the chance to attend!
Ooh, how exciting! I am ready to take my blog to the next level, but would love some professional advice.
Thanks for the contest!
I’m excited about this blogging conference, and it’s a reasonable driving distance from me…a free pass ensures that I get to go!
I would love to win this pass so I could get some great insight and knowledge from those who do blogging right! Plus, it’s a close drive, so this would really make the conference affordable!
I’m dying to go to Type A Mom to learn more from my peers and be inspired. I’d also love to meet more of the ladies who’s blogs I read daily and hear them speak. Lastly, to hear Aliza Sherman do the keynote!
OH how fun! I’ve had this on my list, but just not enough money to cover my “list”:) Thanks for the entry!
Blogging is sometimes such solitary work. I love mingling with great people and sharing pointers and learning from the greats.
Thanks for this! I only live about 4 hours away and want to go so bad! I want to learn more about blogging of course but would also love to meet some bloggers as well! Thanks so much!
I want to go for the tracks, and the smaller size conference. I heard last year was fabulous and I had to miss cause of a family vacation!!
Oh, and you’re announcing the winner on my birthday!!! What better birthday surprise could I get???
I would also like to attend to participate in the Blogger Town Hall Meeting. I’ve heard such great things about the one last year!
Is it okay to say that I’m also looking forward to finally seeing Asheville? Many friends have been and they all say how beautiful it is there! I can’t wait to see for myself
I would love to meet (in person) so many of my Twitter friends that will be attending or speaking at the Type-A Mom Conference.
While I know I would get a lot of good info from the event itself, who could pass on an opportunity to spend a few days with Jen???
Attending Type-A Mom Conference would be a great way to extend my reach in the blogosphere.
I so want to go to this conference. I have been blogging for one year now and one of the first people I started following on twitter and in blog world was Kelby Carr. She is so smart and savvy and honestly I think I have a lot to learn in this environment. This would be my first conference and I really need it to grow. I have been debating with myself over which conference to start out with and this is the one that keeps standing out above all the others. So please enter my name and I would love to win registration to Type A Mom. Thanks for the excellent opportunity.

I would like to go to the Type-A Mom Conference to have a chance to interact with companies that are supportive of bloggers.
I’d love to go to this conference to spend an entire weekend talking to adults! Even better that they’ll be adults who share some of the same passions and interests that I do…
I would love to attend this! I want to go to this conference so bad because I’ve heard such wonderful things about last year’s conference.
I want to go to Typa A Mom Con so bad, I recently went to my first conference in June and caught the conference bug and want to go to all of them!!! I heard that last year was fantastic and wonderful that I would Olove to go this year!

I want to attend Type A Mom so I can show the guys support and beef up the blog and make it more enjoyable for everyone/
I’d love to win because I’ve never been to a blog conference and this one is close enough to Atlanta to drive.
I want to win this so bad! I was just introduced to this conference by Cecily Kellogg. I was jealous about hearing about all the BlogHer peeps heading up soon, I can’t afford to travel that far so I mentioned I wish something was closer. Thats when Cecily mentioned the Type A Conference! It’s close for me in Atlanta and I love Asheville! I love blogging but I’m still pretty new and I would love to learn all I can.
I would LOVE to attend TypeAMom. I am only a few hours away so it seems silly not to go! The speakers are amazing and I know I would learn a lot.
I’d love to attend Type A Mom, it will be my first conference. I live in NC and am currently hosting an I Heart NC campaign on my blog and would love the opportunity to connect with other local bloggers and companies as well as share all the great details of this NC based blog conference with my readers.
Attending the Type-A-Mom conference would be a business dream come true!
I’d like to attend the Type-A-Mom Conference because it’s in my region! I can drive to Asheville and save the airfare!

Ooo ooo ooo! I wanna go! It is perfect timing since our CVB is dissolving which means no more great job for me, but plenty of time to get my blogging bum in gear!
A perk to attending Type-A-Mom Conference would be visiting Asheville again. It’s been 20 years since I’ve been to this NC metropolis!
This will be my first blogger conference and I think this one will be perfect! Everyone is so excited about this conference and the great people who will be there. I hope to join them!

I’ve been told Type-A-Mom Conference is a more intimate, well-organized conference compared to some of the other blogger conferences, and I’d like a chance to find out for myself what it’s really like.
I’d love to attend Type-A Mom Conference, it will be my first conference and in my home state! I would love the opportunity to connect with other local bloggers and companies as well as share all the great details of this NC based blog conference with my readers.

I’d like to go to the Type-A Mom Conference because MomSelect and Maria Bailey have been announced as a sponsor. I admire what Maria is doing for women and would love to meet her!
Hmmm….a themed reception? I wouldn’t want to miss that!
Everything about this conference looks great! I would love to go.
is it obvious that I really want to go to Type-A-Mom Conference?
I would like to go to the conference so that my business doesn’t die. The time is not that convenient, but I am willing to sacrifice. Right before a trip to Washington, Vegas (ABC Show) and a local festival sponsorship.
Although my daughter is in school 2 hours away, I will attend Friday’s seminar, drive 2-hours to get my daughter, return to the conference. Yay for Kid Con!
… jeez I hope I win…. I wonder how many times I can enter… hmmm…
Just in the last week, I’ve heard so many people say that Type-A Mom is their favorite of all the conferences. How could I not want to go to the best??
I really want to go to Type-A Mom. I want to learn more and see beautiful Asheville, NC, but unless I winn, or have a sponsor, there’s no way I can afford to go.
Love how you can meet up with and talk with companies!
I haven’t been to any blogger conferences before, and I’m hearing great things about Type-A-Mom. Would like to find out if they’re true.
REALLY looking forward to hearing the winner this week!!!
I’m really looking forward to going to this conference. I’m getting more excited as everyone talks about the fun of BlogHer, but I’m looking forward to the smaller size of Type-A Mom!
This would be so cool to win!
I’ve never been to a blog conference and I’d love to go to learn more about writing and to connect with other bloggers. Thanks so much for the opportunity!
Here’s hoping my number comes up so I can go to the Type-A-Mom Conference and rock it with Jen!
I am a new beginner blogger and would love the opportunity to go and learn ~ I am overwhelmed with all the information out there but soooo excited to learn and get going!
Thank you for the opportunity.
Here’s my last chance to win this awesome ticket. Thanks to you guys for offering a chance to a lucky person and thanks to Creative Memories for sponsoring it! Fingers crossed!
Looks like a wonderful conference!
