Baby Banz: These pint-sized sunglasses are designed for infants and toddlers up to age 2. The pair I have to send you are bright orange (great for either gender). The neoprene band with adjustable Velcro fastens around the head (so they stay put), yet are still comfortable for your young child. Lenses provide 100% UV protection, and they are fabulous for everyday outdoor use or vacations to the beach.
Kidz Gear Wireless Car Headphones: I wish I had these headphones for my kids when they were toddler age; they are super comfortable, with cushioned ear cups, and the sound quality is quite good. The set I have to give away are for use with DVD players in just about any car — all major manufacturers from Audi to Volvo. But if you don’t have a video-player for your car, I’m happy to send you the wired version, for use in many different kids of portable electronics, including mp3 players and video-game players (that is, if you don’t mind that I took them out of the box to review at Practical Travel Gear). Headphones are for kids ages 2 and up; my 8-year-old much prefers his “cool” earbuds, so I’d put the age cap on about 5.
Klutz Activity Book: I absolutely love Klutz portable games, crafts, puzzles and books for use on road trips, RV weekends and plane rides. This upbeat and slightly irreverent company truly understands kids’ silly nature. This particular book, “The Only Coloring Puzzle, Game, Dot-to-Dot Activity Book You’ll Ever Need” is chock full of more than 100 pages worth of activities — trust me, this will keep the kids from asking, “Are we there yet?” on your next long car ride. It comes with five twist-up crayons in their own carrying-case attached to the spiral-bound book. The age recommendation is 4+, but most of the pages have written instructions, so I’d recommend it for kids in first through third grade.

My daughter and husband are taking their two small children on their first big trip from Ohio to Texas… a long drive. The kids are excited to go, but they have to concept of the hours in the car. Heaven help them all!

Well, the next trip is actually going to be a move… It’s comes out to about 1600 miles-ish in car with a 5 year old and almost 2 year old, the adults (us), and two XLarge dogs.. weee fun.. lol after the move trip we are taking a week or two to visit family which will then be a 6 hours (his family) and 13 hours (my family) away… move fun.. lol
